Ruminations & Ronnifications 45 years? Would you believe that I have been slicing and eating pastrami for 45 years? If anyone would have told me that I’d be a bologna slicer in the first place, I would have said “they are nuts.” Politics — maybe; professor — possibly; lawyer — less likely… but, a hot dog vendor — never.

Ben's Restaurant News Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Celebrates 45 Years in the Pastrami Business  Autumn 1972 was an exciting one. President Richard Nixon was running for his second term. The Oakland Athletics were in a close battle against the Cincinnati Reds for the World Series pennant. And, Ronnie Dragoon, a witty New Yorker from Queens, was just opening the doors to his very first Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers. Now, in celebration of 45 years as one of New York’s best Kosher delis, Ben’s is offering a $19.72 lunch and dinner special, from October 9 through October 15.

Giving Something Back Sports Teams, PTA and Scouts Fundraising Opportunities  In addition to hosting various fundraisers throughout the year, Ben's Kosher Deli Founder/Owner Ronnie Dragoon also provides many solutions for charitable organizations to raise money and gain awareness. Among these is the availability of 1-2-3 Fundraiser, in which Ben's donates a percentage of receipts back to participating organizations. This is a great fundraising opportunity for sports teams, PTA or boy/girl scout troops. Ben's local charitable support is channeled through Ben's Foundation. Employee Spotlight This month's employee spotlight goes to Joe and Kayla Silverstein, the son and daughter of our Vice President Todd Silverstein and long-time worker Ann Marie Silverstein. They are being featured this month because of their hard work and dedication to Ben's since they were just teens.
